Legal Counsel – Renewable Energy Business (Philippines)

About the role

Our client, a leading renewable energy developer operating across Asia, is looking for a Legal Counsel to support its Philippines operations. This commercially‑focused legal role works closely with business development, finance and engineering teams to drive project execution and influence strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts for renewable energy and energy storage projects, including Shareholders’ Agreements, Land Use Agreements, EPC, O&M and project‑finance related agreements.
• Conduct legal and risk analysis for business plans and investment opportunities.
• Support dispute resolution and manage legal issues arising from project activities.
• Provide corporate legal support for the Philippine entity and affiliated group companies.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for management to aid key decision‑making.

Required profile

• Approximately 5+ years of experience in the renewable energy industry.
• Proven experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Qualified attorney or lawyer.
• Ability to independently identify legal risks and develop practical solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
