Lawyer – Federal Government Relations (Onsite in Philippines)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Lawyer to join our team in the Philippines and support Northern Arc Public Affairs’ federal government relations work. You will provide legal expertise on Canadian federal funding, regulatory compliance, and government engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and refine legal documents, agreements and memoranda related to federal funding and government submissions.
• Conduct legal research on Canadian federal statutes, regulations and policies and translate findings into clear guidance.
• Collaborate with consultants to assess legal risks, develop advocacy materials and structure funding proposals.
• Maintain organized case files, track legislative and regulatory developments, and deliver timely legal opinions.

Required profile

• Strong legal research and analysis abilities with accurate interpretation of statutes and policy documents.
• Experience drafting contracts, legal opinions and memoranda with meticulous attention to detail.
• Knowledge of public law, administrative law or government relations and interest in Canadian federal governance.
• Law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) and eligibility to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction; prior government or public‑affairs experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, high professional ethics and commitment to inclusive practices.
• Comfort working with international stakeholders across time zones and proficiency with standard office and collaboration software.
