Laboratory Information Management Systems Coordinator

About the role

The STRIDES Laboratory Information Management Systems Coordinator will lead the planning, deployment, and nationwide rollout of the Integrated Laboratory Information Management System (ILIMS) for the Department of Health Office for Health Laboratories (OHL). The role bridges technical teams, software vendors, and laboratory stakeholders to ensure a compliant, interoperable system that supports the Philippines’ disease detection and surveillance objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the development, enhancement, and nationwide implementation of ILIMS modules, ensuring alignment with national laboratory requirements and timelines.
• Serve as the liaison among OHL, KMITS, regional laboratories, software developers, and other partners to facilitate communication, issue resolution, and system adoption.
• Monitor project milestones, support system validation, user acceptance testing, and post‑implementation reviews.
• Ensure interoperability with other health information systems using HL7 FHIR and related data exchange standards while complying with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
• Develop and oversee data quality assurance processes to maintain accurate and timely laboratory information.
• Organize capacity‑building activities, including user training, mentorship, and technical assistance for laboratory personnel.
• Prepare technical updates, implementation reports, and presentations for OHL management, donor partners, and project stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related health science field.
• At least 1 year of progressive experience managing software development or health informatics projects.
• Understanding of laboratory operations, health information systems, and data interoperability frameworks.
• Strong coordination, leadership, and communication abilities with the capacity to deliver under tight timelines.
