Junior Statutory Accountant – Manila

About the role

As a member of the Manila Accounting and Compliance team at RELX, the Junior Statutory Accountant will support the Record‑to‑Report process for legal entities, ensuring high‑quality statutory reporting and compliance with local regulations, IFRS and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements, including balance sheet, profit & loss, cash flow and disclosure notes.
• Coordinate external and internal audit activities, track findings and support remediation.
• Assist with SOX planning, testing and remediation in partnership with SOX champions.
• Compile local regulatory filings and support tax agents with corporate income tax packages.
• Produce monthly management reports, trial balance analysis and account reconciliations.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities across the compliance function.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, local statutory reporting standards and GAAP.
• Experience or exposure to audit processes, SOX compliance and tax reporting.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to resolve accounting queries.
• Effective communication and collaboration across cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in preparing financial statements and regulatory filings.
