Junior Corporate Legal Counsel

About the role

The Junior Corporate Legal Counsel will support the company’s litigation and contract management functions. This full‑time role involves handling legal disputes, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, and overseeing land acquisition due diligence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies for managing current and anticipated litigation, including risk analysis and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with external law firms, manage relationships, and ensure cost‑effective representation.
• Prepare, draft, and review demand letters, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Issue demand letters to lessees with outstanding obligations and enforce contractual terms.
• Implement remedial actions such as padlocking, utility cut‑offs, and repossession of leased properties.
• Travel to project sites for boundary issues, ejectment of illegal occupants, settlement negotiations, and fact‑finding.
• Appear in court or before quasi‑judicial bodies on behalf of the company.
• Draft, evaluate, revise, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including lease agreements, NDAs, and service provider contracts.
• Ensure contracts are compliant with laws, company policies, and applicable regulations.
• Track deviations from standard contract templates and propose solutions to contract‑related problems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree – Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws.
• Minimum of 5 years combined experience in a law firm and in‑house counsel role within a real‑estate development company.
• Member of the Philippine Bar Association in good standing.
• Knowledge of land acquisition and title transfer processes.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Willingness to report to the office and travel to various project locations as needed.
