IT Hive Virtual Administrator

About the role

We are looking for an IT Hive Virtual Administrator to join MCI’s fast‑growing technology team. In this role you will support and maintain our integrated IT program, working closely with systems engineers, architects and development teams to design, build and operate a streaming and messaging platform based on Hadoop and Hive technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and manage Hadoop clusters, including adding/removing nodes, monitoring jobs and ensuring high availability of the NameNode.
• Perform storage management, performance tuning and volume management for Hadoop environments.
• Install, patch and upgrade software components as required.
• Plan capacity and implement new or upgraded hardware and software releases for storage infrastructure.
• Design, develop and maintain Data Lake and Data Warehousing solutions.
• Configure Hadoop security and provide help‑desk support to resolve tickets and critical issues.
• Collaborate with development, service design and business teams to deliver quality products.
• Adapt schedule to support project launches and software deployments.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Hadoop and Hive technologies in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of cluster setup, performance fine‑tuning, monitoring and scaling.
• Ability to plan capacity, manage storage infrastructure and implement security controls.
• Experience providing technical support and resolving critical incidents.
• Motivated, dedicated and able to work flexibly during project peaks.
