Internal Auditor – Restaurant & Hospitality

About the role

The Internal Auditor will conduct operational, financial and compliance audits across The Bistro Group’s restaurants, commissaries, warehouses and corporate offices. The role ensures internal controls are effective, risks are identified and mitigated, and company policies and regulatory requirements are consistently applied.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute scheduled and surprise audits of restaurant branches, commissaries, warehouses and head‑office departments.
• Assess the adequacy of internal controls, operational processes and risk‑management practices.
• Perform cash counts, inventory audits, sales validations and fixed‑asset verification.
• Review compliance with company SOPs, government regulations and food‑safety standards.
• Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, fraud risks and operational inefficiencies.
• Prepare detailed audit working papers, findings and comprehensive audit reports.
• Recommend corrective actions and monitor the implementation of agreed‑upon remediation plans.
• Assist in developing annual risk‑based audit plans and support investigations of suspected fraud or policy violations.
• Coordinate with Operations, Finance, HR, Supply Chain and other departments during audit engagements.
• Support external auditors and regulatory agencies during inspections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in internal or external auditing, preferably in restaurant, retail, hospitality or food‑and‑beverage environments.
• Knowledge of internal controls, risk assessment, compliance and audit methodologies.
• Willingness to travel and conduct field audits across multiple locations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with POS systems and inventory‑management processes.
• Ability to prepare audit documentation and reports in accordance with professional standards.
