Internal Auditor

About the role

The bank is seeking a dedicated Internal Auditor to lead and execute its internal audit program. This role involves assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management practices across branches and departments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the bank’s internal audit program and annual audit plans.
• Conduct financial, operational, compliance, and internal control audits of branches and departments.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management practices.
• Prepare audit findings, reports, recommendations, and supporting documentation.
• Monitor implementation of corrective actions and ensure compliance with audit recommendations.
• Coordinate with regulators, external auditors, and internal units regarding audit requirements and examinations.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of audit reports, records, and working papers.
• Assist the Audit and Compliance Committee with audit oversight and governance functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Audit and Compliance Committee, Management, or the Board of Directors.

Required profile

• Proven experience conducting financial, operational, compliance and internal control audits, preferably within a banking environment.
• Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management practices and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to prepare clear audit reports and recommendations.
• Experience monitoring corrective action implementation and ensuring compliance.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills for interaction with regulators, external auditors and internal stakeholders.
