Human Resources Director

About the role

Discovery Samal is seeking a senior HR leader to drive people strategy for its luxury resort in Samal, Philippines. The Human Resources Director will be on‑site, overseeing all HR functions and partnering with senior management to support the resort’s growth and guest‑focused culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR policies, ensuring compliance with Philippine labor laws and company standards.
• Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits and employee relations.
• Advise senior leadership on talent strategy, succession planning and organizational design.
• Manage HR operations, data reporting and continuous improvement of HR processes.
• Collaborate with department heads to align HR initiatives with resort objectives and drive employee engagement.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading full‑cycle HR functions, preferably in hospitality or resort environments.
• Strong knowledge of labor legislation, regulatory compliance and HR best practices.
• Demonstrated ability in talent development, training program design and leadership coaching.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Experience managing HR teams, budgets and HRIS tools.
