About the role

Lead the Casualty underwriting line in the Philippines, shaping business plans to drive growth, profitability and market positioning while ensuring compliance with AIG’s underwriting frameworks and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and execute comprehensive business plans for the Casualty line, optimizing growth and profitability.
• Direct portfolio risk appetite and profitability, ensuring rigorous compliance.
• Evaluate and approve high‑exposure and complex accounts, guiding the team in structuring competitive terms.
• Cultivate a high‑performing underwriting team through coaching, mentoring and technical upskilling.
• Expand relationships with key brokers and clients to acquire new business and maximize retention.
• Analyze economic indicators, competitor activity and industry trends to identify opportunities and adjust pricing strategies.

Required profile

• Deep technical expertise in Casualty lines and strong understanding of the Philippine commercial insurance market.
• Proven track record of managing and growing a profitable portfolio.
• Exceptional negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
• Strong people‑management and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and market data for strategic decisions.
• Collaborative mindset to partner with claims and other business lines.
• Relevant degree or professional insurance qualification with substantial senior underwriting or risk‑management experience.
