Fullstack Software Engineer – Automation Platform

About the role

Optum is seeking a Fullstack Software Engineer to join its Automation Platform team. You will develop and enhance automation solutions that connect people with health‑care services, leveraging both frontend and backend technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automation tools and pipelines using Python and web‑application integration.
• Enhance and support existing infrastructure applications within VMware Services.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate automation with systems such as ServiceNow, GitHub Actions, and security platforms.
• Participate in project meetings, gather requirements, and define success metrics for automation initiatives.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and follow coding standards, version control, and documentation best practices.
• Monitor automation outcomes, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve based on feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 3+ years of experience in automation‑focused roles.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and DevOps practices.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Frontend development with Next.js and React.
• Experience with VMware services.
• Integration with ServiceNow, GitHub Actions, and security platform tools.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, API gateways, OpenAPI/Swagger.
