Fullstack Software Engineer – Automation Platform

About the role

Optum is seeking a Fullstack Software Engineer to join its Automation Platform team. You will work on enhancing and supporting infrastructure applications within VMware Services while building automation solutions that improve reliability and reduce manual effort.

Key responsibilities

• Develop automation scripts and pipelines using Python and integrate them with web applications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, build, and maintain automation tools that streamline workflows.
• Integrate automation with platforms such as ServiceNow, GitHub Actions, and security tools.
• Participate in project meetings, gather requirements, and define success metrics.
• Monitor automation outcomes, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in automation‑focused roles.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and DevOps practices.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Frontend development with Next.js and React.
• Backend development with Python.
• Experience with VMware services.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of API gateways, OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
