Full Stack Engineer

About the role

We are hiring a Full Stack Engineer in the Philippines to join a lean South African startup building AI‑native software for real businesses. The role is ideal for engineers who enjoy working across the entire technology stack, from user interfaces to backend services and production systems.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain product features across the full stack.
• Develop customer‑facing interfaces, backend services, APIs, and internal tools.
• Work with databases, authentication, third‑party integrations, and deployment workflows.
• Contribute to reusable components, design systems, and frontend patterns.
• Debug production issues, improve reliability, and write automated tests.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines and use AI coding tools to boost development speed and quality.
• Collaborate closely with a small remote team where every engineer owns meaningful work.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (Vue, Nuxt, React, Next.js, Svelte, Angular, etc.).
• Experience with backend technologies (Node.js, Express, NestJS, Python, Django, FastAPI, Laravel, Java Spring Boot, etc.).
• Working knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, authentication, data modeling, and responsive design.
• Comfortable with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and modern development workflows.
• Exposure to cloud deployment, Docker, CI/CD, and production environments.
• Strong debugging and problem‑solving abilities, clear written and spoken English, and ability to work remotely and independently.
