Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller is the senior accounting professional responsible for safeguarding the school’s financial assets and overseeing all daily accounting operations. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the role ensures data integrity, fiscal responsibility and compliance with Philippine accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and protect the institution’s financial assets.
• Oversee daily accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Lead the accounting team and coordinate with academic and administrative units.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, month‑end and year‑end closes.
• Conduct cash‑flow management, cost control and financial analysis to support decision‑making.
• Implement and monitor internal controls, risk‑management practices and audit readiness.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, tax laws and accounting principles in the Philippines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance or related field; CPA preferred.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or senior finance role, preferably in education or service‑oriented organisations.
• Strong leadership, team‑management and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with ERP accounting systems.
• Expert use of Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools.
• Financial analysis and reporting capabilities.
