Financial Controller

About the role

The organisation, a leader in the travel sector, is looking for a Financial Controller to oversee accounting, reporting and control functions across several business units. You will work closely with finance and operational leaders to ensure compliance, drive process improvements and provide insights for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations for multiple entities, ensuring accurate transaction recording.
• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities and deliver timely financial reports to the headquarters in Canada.
• Supervise accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations and cash‑management processes.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reporting packages for internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate consolidation of financial data across entities and currencies.
• Identify and implement enhancements to accounting processes, automation and controls.
• Support compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Lead internal and external audit activities, preparing documentation and addressing queries.
• Monitor cash‑flow forecasting and assist with working‑capital optimisation.
• Coach and develop the accounting team, fostering best practices and continuous learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum seven years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least three years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, month‑end close, account reconciliations, general ledger oversight and accounts payable management.
• Experience managing cash‑flow monitoring and implementing robust financial controls in a multi‑entity environment.
