Financial Controller / Accountant – NetSuite Expertise (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Financial Controller/Accountant to join a fast‑growing automotive racing and performance parts company. This remote, independent‑contractor position supports our finance team by managing day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily bank reconciliations and record all transactions, including Stripe and PayPal fees, in NetSuite.
• Monitor billing queues, audit customer deposits, keep accounts‑receivable aging clean, and enter landed costs on item receipts.
• Review and resolve variances between purchase orders, vendor bills, and actual costs using NetSuite’s variance processes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for financial inquiries from leadership and our CPA.
• Maintain up‑to‑date financial records and manage the month‑end close checklist to ensure CPA‑ready books.
• Prepare financial reports and summaries, such as gross profit by sales order, to provide visibility into company health.

Required profile

• Proven experience using Oracle NetSuite as the primary ERP/accounting platform in an inventory or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to pass a technical test on locating fulfilled but unbilled orders and handling negative inventory in NetSuite.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, including reconciliation, accounts payable, and cost accounting.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and document custom workflows into SOPs within the first 30 days.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
