Financial Analyst – Canadian Tax & Reporting

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Analyst specialized in Canadian tax to join our finance team. The role involves preparing accurate financial reports, supporting tax compliance, and ensuring adherence to IFRS and ASPE standards while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update financial statements, budget‑vs‑actual reports, and other analyses in compliance with IFRS and/or ASPE.
• Present financial results and analyses to management.
• Research and draft financial accounting memorandums.
• Support external financial reporting requirements and act as liaison during external audits.
• Review financial information for filings, presentations, and other reporting materials.
• Assist with financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and tax return preparation.
• Complete GST/PST filings and related examinations.
• Perform core accounting functions including reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, and capital‑expenditure monitoring.
• Monitor and document internal controls and participate in ad‑hoc analyses, due diligence, and special projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong experience preparing financial statements under IFRS and/or ASPE.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Knowledge of Canadian tax preparation, GST/PST filings, and external audit support.
• Hands‑on accounting experience with reconciliations, AP, AR, accruals, and internal controls.
