Finance Generalist

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Generalist to own the transactional finance cycle for our on‑shore finance team in Cebu City. As the first offshore hire on this account, you will help build best‑practice processes from the ground up while handling day‑to‑day accounting tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the daily sales journal and prepare weekly accounts payable and receivable.
• Reconcile all bank and credit‑card accounts and resolve reconciling items.
• Maintain balance‑sheet accounts, fixed‑assets register and support statutory returns (including BAS).
• Process AP invoices, generate ABA files, BPAY transfers and ensure timely payments.
• Assist with weekly customer invoicing, follow‑up on invoice disputes and approvals.
• Document and standardise finance workflows and identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate with on‑shore finance team, suppliers and customers, escalating issues as needed.

Required profile

• 1‑5 years of experience in an accounting role covering sales journals, AP/AR and bank reconciliations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field (preferred).
• Experience supporting a small business is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
