DevOps Engineer – Remote (Nightshift)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our remote team based in the Philippines. The role focuses on managing CI/CD pipelines, AWS infrastructure, and observability for a composable e‑commerce platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for a micro‑service based e‑commerce platform across dev, QA, staging and production.
• Develop and optimise GitHub Actions workflows for a large monorepo with 40+ packages, using Turborepo or Nx.
• Architect and extend AWS infrastructure with Terraform, including VPC, subnets, security groups, IAM, encryption, CDN, container registries and serverless functions.
• Manage AWS serverless and container workloads such as Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway and event‑driven integrations (SNS, SQS, EventBridge).
• Implement security and compliance controls: least‑privilege IAM, KMS secrets, OIDC CI authentication, PCI/GDPR requirements.
• Operate the observability stack (APM, RUM, log aggregation, distributed tracing, DLQ alerting) using tools like Datadog or New Relic.
• Maintain credentials, webhooks and connectivity for third‑party SaaS services (commerce platforms, headless CMS, search, payments).
• Support development teams with deployment troubleshooting, run‑book documentation and environment promotion in a trunk‑based workflow.

Required profile

• Available to work night‑shift hours with flexible scheduling.
• 4–7 years of hands‑on experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure and CI/CD.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Required skills

• GitHub Actions (or equivalent CI/CD platform) with reusable workflows and OIDC authentication.
• AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, ECR, S3, CloudFront, Cognito.
• Terraform – modular IaC, remote state, environment‑specific configurations.
• Monorepo build tools: Turborepo, Nx or similar.
• Event‑driven architecture: SNS, SQS, EventBridge.
• IAM, secrets management, KMS encryption, WAF, OIDC CI/CD authentication.
• Observability tools: Datadog or New Relic (APM, tracing, logging, dashboards).
• Bash scripting and AWS CLI.
• Node.js/TypeScript knowledge.
