DevOps Engineer

About the role

ING is looking for a DevOps Engineer to design, build, own and maintain its systems and service deployments. You will help improve infrastructure scalability, security and fault tolerance while enabling rapid delivery of new product features.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously improve infrastructure for scalability, security and fault tolerance.
• Integrate DevOps methodology across development, deployment and operations lifecycles.
• Create clean, well‑structured deployment, monitoring and application‑management scripts.
• Enable rapid, stable releases with high availability and performance.
• Optimize existing infrastructure and phase out legacy systems.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and proactively resolve cloud and infrastructure issues.
• Ensure compliance with ING IT risk and security standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong Linux and networking knowledge.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Azure DevOps and Ansible.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, Python.
• Operating systems: RHEL, Windows.
• Middleware: WebSphere, MQ.
• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes (or similar).
• Automation & CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps, Ansible.
• Database: Oracle RDBMS (basic knowledge).
• Security & risk management concepts.
