Desktop Support Engineer (Entry Level)

About the role

The Desktop Support Engineer 1 provides entry‑level technical assistance to internal staff, handling hardware, software and basic network issues. This frontline position ensures smooth daily IT operations for a fast‑growing BPO environment.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to desktop and end‑user support tickets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware and software problems on Windows, Linux and macOS.
• Install, configure and update standard applications.
• Set up desktops, laptops, printers, scanners and other peripherals.
• Assist users with login, password resets and basic access concerns.
• Escalate complex or unresolved issues to higher‑level engineers.
• Maintain accurate documentation of tickets, solutions and procedures.
• Help manage inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
• Provide basic user training on hardware and software usage.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• 0 to 6 months of relevant IT experience.
• Customer service training or experience preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Hardware troubleshooting.
• Software installation and configuration.
• Peripheral setup (printers, scanners, etc.).
• Basic network connectivity troubleshooting.
• User account management (login assistance, password resets).
