Database Administrator

About the role

eTap Inc. is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to ensure the stability, security, and performance of its MySQL and PostgreSQL environments while supporting a growing Data Lake and ETL/ELT processes. The role is critical for reliable data operations across the fintech organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, including monitoring, tuning, and optimization.
• Design, implement, and maintain ETL/ELT workflows, ensuring accurate data movement to the Data Lake.
• Maintain Data Lake structure, storage organization, and optimize file formats such as Parquet and Avro.
• Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply improvements.
• Manage database access controls, encryption, and audit monitoring to meet security and compliance standards.
• Execute backup and disaster recovery procedures and participate in recovery testing.

Required profile

• Proven experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL database administration.
• Hands‑on experience designing and operating ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Familiarity with Data Lake concepts and storage formats (Parquet, Avro).
• Understanding of security best practices, encryption, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery planning.
