Data Engineer

About the role

The Data Engineer will design, build and maintain robust data infrastructure and pipelines that enable the transformation of raw data into actionable insights. Working within NCS’s AI‑focused environment, you will ensure data quality, security and accessibility for analytical and operational use.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate scalable, secure data pipelines and storage solutions.
• Implement ETL processes and regular data quality checks.
• Define and enforce policies to control, optimise and secure data assets.
• Create and maintain data models, structures and databases aligned with business needs.
• Automate data processing using scripts and programs following industry standards.
• Build data visualisation solutions to simplify complex data for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, optimise workflows and deliver ad‑hoc reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics or related roles.
• Proficiency in Python and Java.
• Hands‑on experience with data manipulation tools such as pandas, dplyr or Spark.
• Strong knowledge of ETL processes and data pipeline management.
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
