Data Engineer – Hybrid (6‑12 months)

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team on a 6‑12 month contract, with the possibility of extension. The role is hybrid, requiring two days per week on‑site at our BGC office, and focuses on building and optimizing data pipelines that support our data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes for data warehousing and BI projects.
• Optimize data pipelines to meet SLA requirements and reduce operational costs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams using Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies.
• Implement and manage AWS services such as S3, Glue, Athena, Data Sync, Lake Formation, Airflow, Secrets Manager, IAM, KMS, and CloudWatch.
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance throughout the data lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 3‑6 years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, Java, and Scala.
• Hands‑on experience with ETL development and data warehousing concepts.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services: S3, Glue, Athena, Data Sync, Lake Formation, Airflow, Secrets Manager, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
