Data Analyst I

About the role

As a Data Analyst I you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to receive, analyse and manipulate data, building processes and tools that help customers make informed decisions. You will work on both internal projects and external client engagements, using a variety of cloud‑based and PC tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop data‑driven testing methodologies using existing data assets.
• Clarify stakeholder test objectives and define the data needed to support them.
• Analyse client data, identify quality concerns, and communicate improvement suggestions.
• Design, test and execute automated file‑processing and reporting workflows.
• Write and run database queries to extract and aggregate data for predictive modelling, reporting and analysis.
• Create and enhance code and tools that are easily usable by a wide audience, including non‑Data‑Science teams.
• Build Python or Power BI reporting solutions to provide insights into LexisNexis data assets.
• Enforce data‑quality testing best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (open to fresh graduates with relevant internships or practicum).
• 1–3 years of experience in data manipulation, cleansing or modelling (or equivalent internship experience).
• Experience with at least one programming/analytics language such as Python, Spark or R.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database technologies.
• Familiarity with version‑control systems like Git.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure) and Power BI.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with attention to data verification and documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
