Cyber Security Specialist – Security Operations

About the role

CyTech is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to join its Security Operations Center in Cagayan de Oro. You will monitor security tools, investigate alerts, and respond to incidents for international clients, providing clear communication and practical solutions in real time.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM, EDR and other security tools for alerts and suspicious activity.
• Analyze and investigate incidents to determine scope, impact and root cause.
• Execute containment, remediation and validation actions, and close alerts with documented evidence.
• Escalate complex or critical issues to senior team members.
• Maintain detailed investigation records and suggest improvements to monitoring processes.
• Provide clear updates and explanations to clients during and after incidents.
• Collaborate with team members on incident reviews and workflow enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in security operations, SOC or incident response.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to explain technical issues to non‑technical audiences.
• Analytical mindset with high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SIEM platforms.
• Experience using EDR tools.
• Proficiency with log analysis platforms.
