Custom Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Custom Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain tailored software applications that meet business and client needs. The role collaborates closely with stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high‑quality solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom software applications based on business requirements.
• Translate functional and technical specifications into efficient, scalable code.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following best practices.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and system optimisation.
• Integrate applications with APIs, databases, and third‑party systems.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, QA Engineers, and other developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews and help improve development standards and processes.
• Investigate and resolve software defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications while adding new functionality.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications.
• Ensure applications meet security, performance, reliability, and usability requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or PHP.
• Experience with web application development and related frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Exposure to Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and enterprise system integration is advantageous.
