Country Head for India

About the role

The Country Head for India will lead the full P&L of the business, driving growth from a single warehouse in Kolkata to a nationwide operation. Reporting directly to the founders, you will own every dimension of the business – operations, commercial, finance, people and expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Full P&L responsibility for the India business, including revenues, costs, margins and working capital.
• Run and scale warehouse and last‑mile delivery operations, starting in Kolkata and expanding to new geographies.
• Manage a workforce that will grow from ~50 employees to several hundred, including warehouse staff, delivery executives, city managers and functional leads.
• Oversee a trucking fleet to support deliveries while maintaining unit‑economics discipline.
• Acquire and retain Kirana store customers across assigned territories.
• Own supplier relationships with FMCG companies and develop trade programs that generate revenue.
• Hire, develop and retain talent across all levels, building a lean, high‑ownership culture.
• Collaborate with the parent company’s finance team on reporting, planning and controls.
• Execute geographic expansion from North Kolkata to full Kolkata, West Bengal, East India and beyond, establishing operational, acquisition and procurement footprints in each new market.
• Localise and implement technology and product solutions, feeding ground‑level insights back to the India roadmap.
