Controller – Property Management Finance Lead

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a growing property management company. The role focuses on month‑end close, bank reconciliations, invoicing, vendor controls and reporting to provide clear financial visibility for ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
• Reconcile all bank, credit‑card and operating accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare month‑end financial reports for ownership and maintain audit‑ready records.
• Create and manage invoices in QuickBooks, track accounts receivable and support collections.
• Monitor vendor purchases, especially Home Depot and field‑team spending, and enforce purchasing controls.
• Develop benchmarks and dashboards for handyman and maintenance efficiency.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning and improve internal accounting processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Controller or senior accountant in property management or real‑estate services.
• Strong accounting discipline with a track record of accurate month‑end close and reconciliations.
• Ability to design scalable financial systems for a service‑based organization.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on internal controls and operational efficiency.
