Controller – Ecommerce & B2B (Remote, Philippines)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Controller to own the end‑to‑end accounting function for a fast‑growing, woman‑owned social enterprise. Reporting directly to the CEO and working alongside a fractional CFO, you will ensure the accuracy of financial data and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting, delivering month‑end closes in under 10 days.
• Oversee complex revenue recognition and deferred revenue for subscriptions, gift cards, platform credits and enterprise pre‑payments.
• Handle accounts receivable/payable, payroll coordination, sales‑tax compliance and reconciliations for a hybrid inventory model.
• Track cause‑partner liabilities separate from standard AP.
• Develop product‑line P&L statements and customer profitability reports.
• Create and maintain SOPs, close checklists and a comprehensive chart of accounts.
• Lead audit and tax coordination with external CPAs and maintain B‑Corp documentation.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience (5+ years acceptable with strong deferred‑revenue background).
• Active CPA license.
• Proven experience in product‑based businesses with inventory complexity.
• Ability to produce actuals‑based profitability and driver‑based management reports.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Expertise in deferred revenue and multi‑channel revenue recognition.
• Inventory management experience.
