Construction Manager – Wind Turbine Projects (Philippines)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced On‑Site Construction Manager to lead the erection of utility‑scale wind turbines in the Philippines. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, crane operators and civil contractors to ensure safe, on‑schedule delivery of all construction and lifting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and review lifting and erection schemes for turbine components, ensuring technical feasibility and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with civil contractors on crane hard‑standing design, load‑bearing verification, surface preparation and drainage.
• Perform or review crane load calculations, ground bearing pressure assessments and outrigger pad sizing.
• Supervise heavy‑lift operations, including crawler and mobile crane mobilisation, positioning and rigging.
• Prepare and review lifting plans, method statements, risk assessments and work procedures.
• Monitor construction progress, identify issues and work with turbine suppliers, subcontractors and third‑party crane companies.
• Ensure compliance with international standards such as ASME B30 and EN 13000.
• Conduct pre‑lift meetings, toolbox talks and maintain accurate site records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of construction management experience on wind farms or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Hands‑on experience with heavy‑lift and turbine erection works.
• Proven ability to evaluate and approve crane lifting schemes and erection methodologies.

Required skills

• Crane load calculations and use of manufacturer load charts (Liebherr, Manitowoc, XCMG, SANY).
• Hard‑standing design and ground bearing pressure assessment.
• Preparation of lifting plans, method statements, risk assessments and ITPs.
• Heavy‑lift supervision and rigging.
• Knowledge of ASME B30, EN 13000 and local safety regulations.
• Coordination with geotechnical and civil engineering teams.
