Compliance Officer – Privacy (Level II)

About the role

The Compliance Officer for Privacy II will support the University’s Office by managing data‑protection compliance, handling privacy incidents, and providing research and capacity‑building support. This role works closely with internal units and external regulators such as the National Privacy Commission.

Key responsibilities

• Register the University’s data‑processing systems with the National Privacy Commission and notify the agency of any automated decision‑making systems.
• Monitor data‑protection concerns across university offices and coordinate compliance checks, investigations, and stakeholder engagements.
• Prepare and submit Security Incident Response Team assessment reports, and coordinate responses to data‑privacy incidents and complaints.
• Draft and review data‑sharing, subcontracting, and outsourcing agreements to ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
• Research policy questions, analyse news on data‑protection issues, and develop educational materials and training sessions.
• Provide logistical support for meetings, conferences, and stakeholder events, including minute‑taking and post‑activity reporting.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Philippine data‑privacy laws and the National Privacy Commission’s requirements.
• Experience in compliance management, incident handling, and drafting privacy‑related contracts.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders and to prepare clear written reports.
• Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills for policy analysis and training delivery.
