Compliance & Legal Officer (Philippines)

About the role

The Compliance & Legal Officer will support Bureau Veritas in the Philippines by providing legal advice, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating risk across the organisation. You will work closely with the Head Office compliance team and local business units to uphold the company’s standards and ethical code.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver compliance training and advisory services to internal stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of the annual compliance declaration and other programmes driven by the Head Office.
• Investigate potential breaches of the Code of Ethics reported via whistle‑blowing channels and recommend corrective actions.
• Review, negotiate and align client contracts with Bureau Veritas principles and best‑practice contracting standards.
• Maintain corporate governance registers and assist Boards and Company Secretaries.
• Provide legal support on insurance, property, intellectual property, disputes and compliance reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws degree.
• 2‑5 years of relevant legal or compliance experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Flexibility to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills for conveying complex legal concepts.
