Community Engagement Coordinator

About the role

The Community Engagement Coordinator will support the EpiC project’s community strengthening activities in Mega Manila, Philippines. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role focuses on engaging young adults and community‑based organisations in HIV prevention, testing, treatment and support services.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Community Engagement Officer in developing and implementing community strengthening strategies, especially for young adults.
• Collaborate with program, technical and strategic information teams to align implementation plans for young‑adult focused activities.
• Propose innovative community engagement and social‑behavior change communication (SBCC) approaches to increase demand for HIV services.
• Map and identify young‑adult support groups, organisations and networks within EpiC sites to facilitate partnerships.
• Supervise a cadre of young adults, ensuring active participation and informing project direction.
• Document community engagement efforts and monitor indicators within the Community Engagement Framework.
• Disseminate capacity‑building and implementation opportunities to community partners regularly.
• Ensure ethical and meaningful involvement of young adults and partners in all project activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, community development, social sciences, public health or a related field, or at least two years of college education with relevant experience.
• 1–3 years of experience working with community‑based organisations, NGOs or civil society, preferably in HIV or public health programmes.
