Communications Officer for Peacebuilding Project

About the role

The Communications Officer will lead visibility, documentation, and communication efforts for the Peacebuilding in Conflict‑Affected Mindanao Program 2 (PCAM2). This 18‑month project, funded by DFAT, requires high‑quality branded materials, stories of change, and digital content to keep partners informed.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all communication outputs meet DFAT Australian Aid branding and visibility guidelines.
• Produce event branding assets such as banners, backdrops, certificates, and participant kits.
• Draft press releases, human‑interest stories, feature articles, and social‑media posts.
• Create short video highlights and success‑story videos featuring beneficiaries.
• Provide photo and video coverage for project activities and manage visual files, metadata, and consent forms.
• Collaborate with the MEL Officer to document lessons learned and prepare knowledge products.
• Coordinate with LGUs, BARMM ministries, CBOs, and camp leaders for documentation needs and event logistics.
• Maintain compliance with DFAT safeguards on child protection, PSEAH, counter‑terrorism financing, and conflict‑sensitive communication.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, development communication, multimedia arts, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in communications, media production, or public‑relations within an NGO or development context.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality written and visual content for donor reporting.
• Experience working in conflict‑sensitive environments and adhering to safeguarding policies.
