Commodity Buyer

About the role

The Commodity Buyer will lead the procurement of both local and imported raw materials essential for animal nutrition and pet solutions. Reporting to the Procurement team, you will ensure sourcing strategies align with supply‑demand plans and company objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing, negotiation, and supplier selection for assigned commodities nationwide.
• Monitor inventory levels and adjust purchasing to meet strategic targets.
• Manage contracts from review through execution, including cost projections and foreign‑exchange coordination with Finance.
• Collaborate with QA, Formulation, Supply Chain, and Operations to sustain continuous production.
• Lead supplier evaluations with Quality Assurance and Food Safety teams.
• Analyze spend, identify cost‑reduction opportunities, and propose alternative ingredients.
• Provide weekly market commentary, price updates, and maintain mark‑to‑market risk reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of commodity procurement experience, preferably in agri‑business or trade.
• Experience with foreign trade transactions is a plus.
• Self‑driven team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English.
