Civil Engineer – Construction & Field Operations

About the role

Black & Veatch is seeking a Civil Engineer to support construction activities on transmission line projects in Metro Manila. The role combines office‑based project‑control tasks with hands‑on field work, requiring travel to sites and interaction with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with project controls, including cost tracking and schedule development.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting.
• Support field staff across operations such as inspection, safety, and quality.
• Prepare construction estimates and assist in pre‑planning safety and health activities.
• Audit construction work for compliance with safety and health requirements.
• Perform shop inspections with the quality group and review codes and specifications.
• Assist procurement with logistics, subcontract packaging, and materials management.
• Support startup activities in both the home office and field, including proposal preparation, progress tracking, cost evaluation, and punch‑list maintenance.
• Analyze results of assignments and communicate findings to project teams.
• Undertake additional tasks as requested by construction management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience with overhead transmission line projects; field experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of transmission line design, construction, or project execution is an advantage.
• Individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.
