Buyer III – Technical Procurement

About the role

The Buyer III – Technical Procurement is responsible for sourcing, analysing and negotiating goods and services in specialised technical categories. The role requires deep commodity knowledge to influence procurement decisions for complex and critical items while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Research suppliers from a wide range of sources, including unconventional channels.
• Develop procurement and negotiation strategies based on key variables.
• Perform moderately complex price analysis and obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedules.
• Negotiate price, availability and coordinate with logistics to define transportation and delivery schedules.
• Manage supplier performance to ensure consistent service, high quality and cost efficiency.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and seek guidance on unusual situations.
• Provide guidance to junior buyers and travel to trade shows, supplier audits and ship visits as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of procurement or specialised technical experience.
• Ability to operate in a fast‑paced environment with multiple projects.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports and presentations.
