Business Risk Senior Analyst, Assistant Vice President

About the role

Citi Global Markets is seeking a Business Risk Senior Analyst at the Assistant Vice President level to join the 1st Line of Defense Markets Controls Testing team. The role will plan, execute and report on control testing for Markets Trading and Sales businesses worldwide, ensuring robust risk management and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute design and operating effectiveness testing of controls within agreed timelines.
• Escalate and resolve obstacles to delivery while maintaining high standards and best‑practice documentation.
• Challenge stakeholders on control design and effectiveness, providing constructive feedback.
• Support stakeholders in determining and implementing necessary control remediation.
• Maintain strong relationships with Front Office, Markets Conduct Risk, Compliance and Operational Risk teams.
• Draft impactful summary outputs and reports from the testing programme.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in Front Office controls testing, internal or external audit, or independent control reviews.
• Knowledge of Markets Sales and Trading activities, associated risks and controls.
• Strong understanding of control design assessment and effectiveness testing techniques.
• Proven ability to build and maintain senior stakeholder relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, though extensive industry experience and a strong delivery record are equally valued.
