BSMarE Instructor

About the role

The Baliwag Maritime Academy is seeking a qualified BSMarE Instructor for the academic year 2026‑2027. The successful candidate will join the college faculty to deliver maritime engineering education to aspiring seafarers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures and practical sessions for the BSMarE program.
• Develop and update curriculum in line with IMO standards.
• Assess student performance through examinations, projects, and practical evaluations.
• Guide students in seafarer certification processes and ensure compliance with maritime regulations.
• Participate in faculty meetings, research activities, and community outreach.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months of seagoing experience as an Officer in Charge of Engineering on vessels with propulsion machinery of 750 kW or more.
• Teaching experience preferred; entry‑level candidates must be willing to undergo training.
• Completion of IMO Model Course 6.09 (Training Course for Instructors) and IMO Model Course 3.12 (Assessment, Examination, and Certification of Seafarers) or equivalent approved courses.
• Master’s degree preferred; ongoing studies acceptable.
