Backend Developer – FinTech AI Neobank

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Developer to build the core systems behind BJAK's AI‑powered neobank app. You will create reliable APIs and workflows that support onboarding, payments, cards, transfers, rewards, travel, FX, KYC and risk management for millions of users across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for financial products.
• Ensure system reliability, security, low latency, observability, data integrity and effective incident handling.
• Integrate internal platforms with external financial partners, payment providers, AI services and third‑party APIs.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, mobile and AI teams to launch features quickly and safely.
• Improve existing systems by simplifying flows, eliminating manual steps and automating repeatable processes.

Required profile

• Strong experience building production‑grade backend systems.
• Solid understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, authorization, message queues, job processing and event‑driven architecture.
• Proven track record delivering services used by real customers or internal operations at scale.
• Mindset focused on debugging, reliability, security and data quality.
• Ability to balance speed, correctness, scalability and maintainability.
• FinTech, payments, banking, KYC or fraud experience is a plus but not mandatory.
