Associate Full-stack Software Engineer

About the role

Manulife is looking for an Associate Full-Stack Application Developer to design, develop and support scalable business applications across the full software development lifecycle. The role uses full-stack technologies, Power Platform and modern software engineering practices, working with cross-functional teams on digital transformation initiatives. The position is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and enhance scalable business applications across the full software development lifecycle.
• Build responsive front-end interfaces, back-end services, APIs, databases and integrations using secure and reusable practices.
• Develop solutions with Power Platform and expand skills in AI, machine learning and modern web development.
• Write clean, maintainable code, run unit and integration tests, troubleshoot defects and take part in peer code reviews.
• Work with product owners, designers, business partners and engineering teams to turn requirements into technical solutions.
• Apply CI/CD, DevSecOps, source control, documentation and application security standards.
• Take part in prototyping and technical investigations to validate ideas and reduce delivery risk.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-2 years of software development experience, including academic, internship or professional work on front-end, back-end or full-stack solutions.
• Amenable to a rotation and flexible shift schedule, with 3 days per week onsite in the Quezon City office.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills, and quick learning of new technologies.

Required skills

• Web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and at least one modern programming language or framework.
• Power Apps or Power Platform development, with interest in AI and modern web development.
• APIs, relational or non-relational databases, data modeling, object-oriented design and cloud application basics.
• Source control, debugging, secure coding, automated testing and CI/CD concepts.
• Preferred: end-to-end apps with frameworks such as .NET, Java, Node.js or Python; Azure, API management or cloud deployment; Power Automate, Dataverse, Power BI, custom connectors; Agile teams and backlog management tools; Microsoft, cloud, AI or Power Platform certifications.
