Asset Maintenance Officer

About the role

The Asset Maintenance Officer is responsible for ensuring that all company assets—including vehicles, machinery, equipment, and facilities—remain in optimal working condition. This role involves regular inspections, preventive maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and coordination with internal teams and external vendors to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespan.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of vehicles, machinery, equipment and facilities; record condition, maintenance history and required repairs.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules based on manufacturer guidelines and operational needs; ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Coordinate routine maintenance activities with internal teams or external contractors, including oil changes, part replacements and system checks.
• Respond promptly to asset malfunctions, diagnose issues, manage repair requests and oversee maintenance teams or contractors to ensure efficient resolution.
• Document all repairs and update the asset management system with accurate records of service history.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards and company policies; conduct safety audits of assets.
• Track and manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies; maintain accurate records of stock levels and usage.
• Maintain a comprehensive asset maintenance log and generate regular reports for senior management on performance, costs and upcoming needs.
• Collaborate with finance to manage the maintenance budget and with operations to align maintenance schedules with production requirements.
• Manage relationships with external service providers, negotiate contracts and monitor service quality for specialized repairs.
