Accounting Manager

About the role

The accounting supervisor is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting functions. This includes managing daily accounting operations, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and ensuring all practices adhere to accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate is a strategic, detail‑oriented leader with strong analytical skills and a proven track record in financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, delegating tasks and reviewing work for accuracy and compliance.
• Participate in recruitment, training, and performance management of accounting personnel.
• Oversee general ledger activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide regular reports to executive leadership for strategic decision‑making.
• Ensure all financial operations comply with GAAP or IFRS and develop proper accounting policies.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risk.
• Coordinate annual and quarterly audits, serving as primary contact for external auditors.
• Oversee preparation and filing of corporate tax returns.
• Assist in developing annual budgets and periodic forecasts, monitoring spending and analyzing budget‑to‑actual variances.
