About the role

The ABA Billing Specialist I manages key revenue‑cycle activities for ABA therapy services, ensuring accurate billing, timely reimbursement, and compliance with payer and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Collect patient cost shares and create payment plans for ABA therapy services.
• Support accounts receivable collection activities and denial management to ensure timely reimbursement.
• Prepare, review, and submit claims in compliance with payer and regulatory requirements.
• Post payments, adjustments, and denials to the appropriate patient accounts.
• Conduct benefit verifications for ABA patients.
• Communicate financial responsibility estimates to families based on insurance quotes.
• Address session‑note issues identified by the EMR system and collaborate with the clinical team for resolution.
• Gather and organize ABA medical records for audit requests.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold privacy regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum high‑school diploma.
• 1–3 years of experience with ABA billing and authorization processes (preferred).
• Excellent communication, time‑management, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Familiarity with EMR systems and benefit verification processes.
• Knowledge of ethical billing practices and HIPAA standards.
