Wind Turbine Technical Manager (Utility-Scale)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Wind Turbine Technical Manager to lead on‑site technical activities for utility‑scale wind power projects in the Philippines. You will act as the primary technical authority, coordinating between the turbine supplier, EPC contractor and the project owner to ensure flawless delivery, erection and commissioning of wind turbines.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main technical interface for all turbine‑related matters throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review, approve and comment on turbine design drawings, installation manuals, foundation load data and commissioning procedures.
• Manage the turbine supplier’s site team during transportation, erection and commissioning, ensuring compliance with manufacturer requirements.
• Inspect incoming turbine components, monitor delivery schedules and handle technical non‑conformances.
• Evaluate and approve changes to erection methodology, torque specifications and installation sequences.
• Lead troubleshooting of installation and commissioning issues, coordinating with the manufacturer’s engineering support.
• Review test reports, power‑curve protocols and grid‑compliance documentation before final acceptance.
• Close the technical punch list and support the issuance of the Provisional Acceptance Certificate.
• Assist in preparing variation orders, warranty claims and O&M hand‑over documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of technical experience in the wind energy sector, including at least 3 years in a senior engineering or management role on utility‑scale wind farms.
• Deep knowledge of wind turbine components (rotor, nacelle, drivetrain, tower, pitch/yaw systems, converter, transformer) and their installation requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with turbine transportation, erection, commissioning and performance testing.
