Water Engineer – Network Design

About the role

Arup is seeking a Water Engineer specialized in network design to deliver high‑quality water supply, wastewater and drainage systems. Based in Manila, the role supports sustainable, resilient infrastructure projects using advanced hydraulic modelling and engineering judgment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs for water, used‑water and drainage networks in line with project requirements and Arup’s design principles.
• Apply hydraulic principles and engineering judgment to validate designs beyond software outputs.
• Utilise hydraulic modelling tools such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS and ICM to optimise network performance.
• Collaborate with peers and experts for technical review and ensure compliance with local and international standards.
• Manage scope and change within assigned tasks, linking design decisions to cost, client relations and long‑term impacts.
• Prepare technical documentation, drawings and reports for client and regulatory submissions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Sanitary Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in water, wastewater and drainage network design.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Solid understanding of hydraulics and fluid‑mechanics principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hydraulic modelling software (ICM, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS).
• Experience using Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
