Transport Specialist – Control Tower

About the role

The Control Tower Specialist ensures that truck requirements for all distribution centers and platforms are met from booking through deployment and final delivery. Acting as the main liaison between operations and vendor partners, the specialist monitors truck status, resolves issues, and maximizes truck utilization.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and consolidate truck bookings from transport planners across sites.
• Coordinate truck assignments, call times, and deployments with vendor partners.
• Prioritize truck classification (locked‑in, on‑call, per‑trip) and ensure compliance with pre‑loading checklists.
• Monitor actual arrival times against scheduled call times and address loading issues.
• Provide timely status updates (10 am, 2 pm, 5 pm) to customer service and resolve delivery‑related problems with stakeholders.
• Observe company policies, housekeeping standards, and GSDP warehousing practices.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Transport Supervisor.

Required profile

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bookings and deployments.
• Effective communication to coordinate with internal planners and external vendors.
• Attention to detail for monitoring truck status and ensuring checklist compliance.
• Proactive problem‑solving to address loading delays, POD follow‑up, and other operational issues.
