Tax Staff Accountant (Remote)

About the role

We are a fast‑growing Texas‑based CPA firm seeking an experienced Tax Staff Accountant to join our remote team. The role focuses on preparing and reviewing U.S. individual and business tax returns while supporting tax planning and client service initiatives in a technology‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare U.S. federal and state tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065.
• Review source documents, organize client information, and identify missing data.
• Support tax planning and projection engagements.
• Collaborate with tax managers and partners to meet filing deadlines.
• Maintain accurate workpapers and supporting documentation.
• Manage multiple engagements simultaneously, especially during busy season.
• Assist with tax notices, correspondence, and related projects.
• Stay up‑to‑date with tax regulations, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience preparing U.S. tax returns.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal tax concepts and state filing requirements.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and adopt new technology platforms.
