Tax Specialist – Compliance & Planning

About the role

The Tax Specialist will support the tax reporting, planning and compliance function, ensuring accurate tax filings and a comprehensive view of the company's tax obligations. This role works closely with finance, legal and business units to keep tax processes aligned with national and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor tax compliance and issue alerts to relevant business units.
• Participate in monthly Regulatory Compliance Control Group meetings.
• Manage tax audits, assessments and relationships with the Bureau of Internal Revenue and local government units.
• Conduct tax trainings for financial advisors and other stakeholders.
• Develop and update tax planning strategies and tax‑saving measures.
• Review tax provisions in contracts and apply for treaty relief when needed.
• Handle BIR registrations, updates, and related documentation.
• Support transfer pricing queries and day‑to‑day internal tax questions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or law degree is a plus.
• 3‑4 years of experience in tax practice, including audit handling and consultancy.
• Experience with a reputable audit or tax services firm is preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Philippine taxation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Understanding of transfer pricing concepts.
